quick ?? about the turbo
quick ?? about the turbo
i test drove the 09 lancer raliart and i know their is turbo lag bcuz i put the peddal to the floor and took a sec for the turbo to kick in...im going to get one in about 4 or 5 months.. is thier any way to fix it without buying any aftermarket parts or spending alot of cash???
There shouldn't be a large lag in the turbine spooling. The turbo you might be referring to is probably the throttle sensitivity. There is a small delay from pushing the gas pedal and the transmission engaging. A tune for the ecu would help greatly at reducing that delay. Also minimizing more turbo lag.

...........come back and you can start on ways to improve it.
hes getting the info he needs to make a good puchase. I think thats the smart thing to do isn't that one of the reasons this forum exists. You shouldn't shoo anybody away like that.
That "lag" your feeling is primarily launch protection the TCU controls, in order to prolong the life of the TC-SST.
If you are talking about the lag felt while already cruising, that's also not turbo lag for the most part. It is ECU restrictions. Our smaller turbo's actually have less turbo lag compared to most larger turbo'd cars, but lag is still present.
