Can some one please let me know what rpm they are at in 5th or 6th gear while doing 70mph. I have a funny feeling my speedo is off. I just got this car 4 days ago used from a local Mitsu dealership. Had 5500 miles on it. Wondering if the previous owner could have messed with it. I know it had the AWC reflash done becuse I had the service dept look it up for me. What could cause a false speedo reading in this car. The rims and tires are stock so that cant be it. Any help would be really appreciated.

 

@ 70mph, I'm usually at 2800-3000 rpm in 6th.

 

Thanks bro. Just went out for a little drive. In 6th while doing 70mph I was exactly at 2800. I guess its fine. Just felt off last night. Also in 6th doing 80 I was at 3100 rpms. Thanks for your help.

Those are the same as me. I'm at 2800 at 70mph and 3000-3100 at 80mph. The speedo is about 1-2 MPH when I pass by the street radar detectors but that is normal. Most cars are a few MPH faster out of the factory.
