Engine rattle questions.

I did a quick search and did not find anything about my question so I hope this is not a topic that has been covered a million times.

My RA has 12K on the clock, bone stock, and always used Mobile1 at 3K intervals. Always use Shell or BP 93 octane.

My motor is very noisy. Especially at full temp. The noise is not "lift tick" but sounds like it is from the top or front. It has been getting worse over that last 1/2 year.

Some days the car runs great and has great power and some days it feels like a pig and just feels like crap.

I liken it to "knock" in my GVR4.

Anybody else have a noisy motor?

The dealer keeps saying that is normal. It is NOT normal to me. I am embarrassed to go to drive-through and sit at stop lights.

What can I do to force the dealer to do something about this?

The Outlander GT is awesome. The MIVEC is much more powerful that the 2007 XLS I had. All the extra leather and chrome is great and the S-AWC is unbeatable.

I can clearly hear the injectors but the rattle is NOTHING like that. And 10x louder.
