Evo X Conversion Vs. AMS Set up for RA

Just looking for some opinions on these 2 set ups. Thinkin the standard Evo set up (with tune) or the AMS cold air, boost pill and tune? Car is a daily driver around 50 miles a day. Just looking for some good reliable power and fun to drive.

Let me know what you think.

i think he meant intake + boost pill + stage 2 tune..

it seems to me Evo X swap will bring u near 280 whp .. (with tune)
250 whp seems more than enough for DD ..

For the money I would go with the Evo X swap, 315 whp is fun for a DD but I think right around 400 would be ideal, for me anyways but thats certainly out of the questions with the TC-SST.

Kieffer, if you had 400hp, you'd want 500!

It's. A never ending battle if you ask me. You will always want more power.

400 Japanese HP is about 550 American HP

Funny thing is, we'll own them Americans every time!

Go with the Ams intake, boost pill, tune, and compact battery setup. You'll spend a bit more on the X conversion if you don't have anything done. $1000-$1500+ for turbo, lines, mani, dp. $500+ for tune, $200+ for BOV, $300+ X fmic, $50 K&N drop in. these are all low estimates on stock components. Any upgrades will be more $$$. This is also with you installing it

Thanks for al of the input guys. lol I guess I have a lot to think about. The AMS set up is simple and seems like great bang for the buck. However, the X set up has so much more potential. I suppose the bottleneck is the TCC. Finding the balence in the combination is the hard part.

Plus HP is just a number. You could just find a shop that inflates their dyno numbers and get a higher HP rating if you really want it.

Best thing is to have a goal in mind for something like a 1/4 time, 0-60 time, lap time, something that can be measured without much biased added in.

Idk where some of these people are getting their X swap price.

Evo X Intercooler and piping - $300
Evo X Turbo, manifold, O2 housing, Downpipe - $ 750
Gaskets, Oil lines and remaining pieces - $ 230
AMS Tune - $395 (Being done soon)

:] But then again i guess i got everything for a freaking good price :]

You have more options to think about than just the EVO X conversion and the "AMS setup". There are more things that come into play. This thread is just going to give you a bunch of opinions based on factors that you probably do not share in common with the people posting.
