Is there a difference between the AMS Boost Pill and the GST Boost Pill?? I was wondering if I had to have a specific one for either of their base map flashs.

I don't think there is, but I'm not sure because I didn't buy both of them...

Are you trying to buy the AMS boost pill and then get the GST basemap?
Why not get it from AMS and buy the basemap or vice versa.

 

Sorry. I already have the AMS boost pill. I have a friend that is going to put the GST Base map for the boost pill on my car. I'm not sure it this is ok or not

 

There should be no difference between AMS and GST boost pill. Since you are going to put GST base map anyway, you might wanna get the GST boost pill just in case you encounter any abnormality after ECU reflash.

You can still sell your AMS boost pill to anyone who wants to go for AMS ECU reflash.

 

It'll still be a $18 flash from GST.
So when you get that Boost pill you can share your observations.

 

Ummm I wouldn't do that without talking to Bryan. I know how Bryan tunes and even though those base maps are conservative the boost values will be taylored to the GST pill hole size. That size is really small and small differences physically may make a large difference in the ECU's target values.

Seriously, not to scare you but honestly think about what your going to do....
Your willing to sacrfice your 20-30 thousand dollar car to save a few bucks off buying a boost pill from a different vendor than the vendor who's tune you want to run? Sounds stupid to me.

 

I would either pick up the phone and call GST and ask them directly, or you can send a private message to Bryan from GST on these forums and he'll probably reply to your e-mail and let you know for sure. In fact, I'm surprised that Bryan from GST hasn't chimed-in with a response to this thread already.

 

I had the same question long time ago and the answer was that they are the same.

I think I asked AMS about this when I got tuned and he said they were the same. But you might want to double check.
