I am planning to do the SSP clutch upgrade, exhaust (not sure which one yet), and FP red with a retune. My question is, which I am pretty sure I will need them, will I need bigger injectors? Will I also need a pump such as a Walbro? I see AMS has a kit but it does not include the injectors and fuel rail etc. I want to do it right if it needs to be done but only if it NEEDS to be done. If someone could give me some input on what I will probably have to upgrade so I will be pumping enough fuel.

 

I don't think you need to upgtrade the injectors or fuel pump until you start approaching 400whp

 

I should be right at 400 whp after the install that is why I ask.

 

Start with an upgraded Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump... it's a really good idea even for a basically stock Evo with a tune.

Talk to your tuner about what size injectors he recommends... probably not a bad idea to upgrade to FIC 1000 or RC 1000 fuel injectors with the FP Red on 91/93 oct. If you're planning to run E85, you'll definitely need bigger injectors with the FP Red.

You don't need a fuel rail or FPR with your proposed mods.
