Noob exhaust question

I'm currently looking at different exhaust parts and I'm getting awfully confused.

For example, when you look under a car, do these parts attached in this order?

Turbo -> Downpipe -> Cat -> Mid-pipe -> Muffler

Is this right? Where is the Resonator located?

Cause I see some parts labelled as "Test pipe" and "Mini-muffler (From UR)"... Where do these go??

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Right.

Stock Resonator located in the midpipe.

The mini muffler is welded into the testpipe (which is a cat-delete pipe)

Usually a test pipe is a straight pipe that connects the DP and the mid pipe.

It's a pipe that replaces the cat

A test pipe has no restriction whatsoever, whereas a catalytic converter usually has anywhere from 100cells on up to god knows how many on the stock one. Running a test pipe will give you a little more HP than a HFC, but nothing extraordinary. Testpipes also have a strong gas odor that you can smell at idle, etc.

LOL@ **** off loud.

UR has several options for the test/cat pipe and mid pipe. you can run a mini-muffler test pipe and mini-muffler in the mid pipe as well. in fact, they can install a resonator AND a mini-muffler in the mid-pipe.

ive heard the UR system with the resonator and mini muffler and its still loud.. i think without the resonator and mini muffler and adding the test pipe, it will be stupidly loud

correct me if i'm wrong here, but i am under the impression that the RA and EVO X share the exact same muffler flange and exhaust tip locations, right?

it's only the cat to axle section that's different?

i'm just wondering because the HKS legamax axleback has different part numbers for the RA and EVO X. shouldn't it be the same if technically the same muffler can be used on either car?

the route is different not only the middle section
you can "technically" fit any EvoX muffler .. if ure willing to modify the center pipe and flange..

That being said.. the flange on the HKS for the EvoX points slightly to the passenger side... and RA one, more to the center..

ok. thanks for clearing that up! damn, there i was thinking i can buy any aftermarket exo x muffler and put it on ours! so much more selection.

maybe i'll still get what i want and have a custom mid pipe made. i want a bigger resonator or a mini muffler in there anyway.
