Q? Weird Noise after UICP Install
I just installed the Nessie UICP and now when I go above 2.9K RPM I can hear a very distinct and load swooshing sound from the engine bay. I was wondering if anyone else that has installed an aftermarket UICP has noticed any changes in sound like this? Or, possibly if anyone would know what this might be? I have checked all the couplers and they are all very tight so I don't think it is a leak but I am not sure. Any ideas or comments are appreciated. Thanks guys.
If power is down as well, then you probably have a leak. My UICP has a couple of joins in it and with the Blitz air filter, you can certainly hear the air flowing through the pipes under boost. I had a leak when I installed and really noticed the loss of power and an even louder hiss/leak noise.
Was the car sluggish when you had your other mods befor you put on the uicp. does the car feel sluggish in all the gears or when your boost up
idk about the nessie but when i installed my ams upper pipe and intercooler the sound of the air passing through the pipe was way more noticable when in boost...i just thought is was because it was a hard aluminum pipe instead of the sound deadining rubber...

your best bet is to take it apart and redo it, make sure everything is tight. you would know if you had a boost leak, you know your car the best. also replace the clamps with T-clamp, i just replaced all my old clamps with T-clamps and let me say what a difference..
Yeah was going to say, guaranteed boost leak.
Not sure if you guys make boost leak testers, but I made a boost leak tester I made for my DSM, and it's the best thing since sliced bread. Makes finding boost leaks much easier. Hook it to the intake side of the turbo, pressurize it with a compressor (regulated) and listen.
