SST aftermarket cooler recommendations

Hi All,

I am a new Ralliart owner, and plan to track my car next season, and I was wondering which SST transmission cooler was recommended.

My other car sees a lot of track time, so I'm familiar with the generalities in terms of track prep, but are there any other unique Ralliart issues I should be aware of?

Thanks.

Paul

Thanks for the replies.

After I posted my original message, I found the following link via Google:

Has anyone tried this out? Removing the fog lights makes sense to me to increase airflow, as I did a similar nose flap delete on my 928.

I made a thread about this already, and was disappointed to find out that part of the bumper has a housing for the fog light. You can't simply take out the fogs and have a duct for airflow

I messaged WORKS (they did it on their RA), and they said they did saw off the housing, and that they didn't recommend it on a non-track car

I wish one of the few people would finish and release their Fog-Light-Delete Kits. I saw a few threads of people starting them but none of them ever finished/released it

Once again thanks for the info, even though it's not a simple removal job. Sorry Exyia, I didn't see your thread on this topic.

I do deal with a few shops that fabricate custom parts for their track cars, so I'm sure they can make me up some duct work with mesh if it comes down to it. But I agree a proper kit would be a nicer option.

I'd add a engine oil cooler before upgrading the SST cooler if you plan on tracking the car a decent amount.

The RA has no engine oil cooler like the Evo.

Ah, good to know. Thanks.

Any preferred vendor for the engine cooler?

I haven't seen any aftermarket oil coolers for our cars. I've asked RRE to make up a kit so they are looking into it.

Some other people have been using a B&M cooler. I'm not sure where they have been mounting it though.

You can use the OEM Evo X oil cooler.

Bolts on. Just line cooler, lines, brackets, t-stat and relocate the RA windshield fluid res.

I'd be interested in hearing more details on how to install the Evo x oil cooler. Any chance someone could post a how-to with a complete part list, photos of installation, etc.?

didn't mean it to be a ignorant comment, just meant that I've already tried to find an option

I wish I had taken a picture of the bumper housing for the fog light while I had it off. It's pretty massive and just as obstructive for airflow whether the fog lights are installed or not. Getting good airflow through there would probably require sawing off this housing

If I ever take off my bumper again, I'll take pictures again. The fog lights are held on only by one screw (closest to the center of the bumper) and one clip. The screw below the fog light is the height adjustment, so unscrewing that one won't help get it off fyi.

Darn, that didn't work.

It's basically the bumper assembly doc.
