TC-SST Sport vs. Normal Mode
TC-SST Sport vs. Normal Mode
I have a 2010 Lancer RA. I LOVE the twin clutch. Its so fast and all my friends are jelous. So I know what Sport mode auto does. But what exactly does sport mode manual do??? I don't really feel a difference. Can someone help me figure it out. Thanks.
no true. Sport Auto shifts "automatically" at a much higher RPM than Normal Auto. Sport Manual doesn't shift until you tell it to, hence "manual" (to be perfectly honest I haven't tested if it will auto shift at red-line or simply bounce off the rev limit. Way more damage than I want to intentionally cause on a $10K tranny
)
)
Oh yeah, and I finally found out why we have that rev hang, its an emissions feature. If you step on it, then try to shift too quickly, it will "rev hang" to burn off unused fuel rather than sending it out the tailpipe. Learn new things all the time
Soooo, either re-tune or wait longer to shift, haha

. I'm still trying to get used to this tranny, I mix it up so much between auto/manual that I have forgotten to shift in manual mode as mentioned above, and put it into neutral trying to down shift while in auto mode. I love the manual mode though, still rev matches better than I ever could.OP, sport manual supposedly has a higher clamping force on the clutches as opposed to normal manual mode. I've read that on here, and you can definitely feel the difference if you're looking for it. I have also read on hear the manufacturer of the TC-SST also made shifts more harsh to make it *feel* sportier, so there could be some of that going on as well
sounds like the sst should have three settings instead of four (technically); auto, manual, and sport auto...
if this is true, none of these would effect mpg right? or at least significantly. ive had my RA for only a month and ive only driven it strictly in manual normal, sounds like i can drive in manual sport and not effect my mpg? someone correct me if im wrong.
