cobb accessport stage 2?

Hi everyone, I just bought the cobb accessport and am looking to get into the stage 2 settings. apparently you need a full turboback exhaust system. I was just wondering what other people have and how they are working out. I am pretty new to the tuning world and any advice would be appreciated. Oh and I have a 2010 ralliart

Im running stage 2 with stock catback and exhaust and I haven't had any issues for 2 months. Stage 2 however is a VERY noticeable compared to stock or even stage 1.

you

are

a

noob

you NEED to run at the very least a test pipe before ever running the stage 2. Its designed for a non stock cat, and highflow. They don't just put those warnings there for ****s and giggles.

Its bad info like this that make this community stupider.

please, be respectful of your investment, and mod properly.

I thought that's what I said? I worded it uncorrectly. Im running stock catback but the exhaust is Cobb.

My phone has the habit of changing words I say. Sorry for the misworded typos

^You are missing quite a bit there. De-tune to stage 1, find out what is wrong then correct it.
(Here's a hint, a "stock" catback is not the same thing as a "turboback"; from what you said above you have a different muffler??)

I also have a Cobb AP, but am using the 93 stage 1 tune which I found to be a significant improvement over stock.

I seem to recall from the users manual that Cobb cautions against using the stage 2 tune without a full turbo back exhaust and a high flow cat.

I will be bolting on a DC Sports 3" full cat back exhaust in the next week or so, but my plans are to continue using the stage 1 tune unless and untill I decide to use a larger downpipe and high flow cat.

I guess others can choose to do what they wish with their cars, personally I have never been a big fan of taking any risks that might result in melting my pistons or burning my valves, so I tend to err on the side of being a litle conservative.

ok thanks guys. Also, is a full catback exhaust system considered ok? I've heard that it's different from a full turbo back. I'm looking at the magnaflow full catback and want to be sure before I buy it

That's really weird. The dealership I got the car from works with Cobb and told me all I needed for stage 2 was the midpipe and testpipe.

Will it hurt anything if i detune to stage 1 with the midpipe and testpipe installed

Ok you've said 3 different exhaust set-ups so far. I know it probably seems petty, but it really does make a difference. Exhaust flow is subject to limitation from the smallest diameter point; so if you have a 3" mid-pipe, but stock 2.3" muffler and down-pipe, you are not benefiting from the increased flow of the 3" mid-pipe. Figure out what it is you have, so that you can make the proper decision as to what to do.
Good luck!

Unless Magnaflow is now making an exhaust specifically for the Ralliart, it's not going to fit. The last time I checked, Magnaflow's exhaust system was designed for the Evo, and they are NOT interchangeable unless you do some custom modifications.

Turn off any accessories. Make sure your connection is snug. Install should not take long first it saves stock map then installs map of choice.

Make sure you RTFM

Good luck

all accessories are definitely off and connection seems to be perfect. It's -8 celsius (17 farenheit) right now. could that have any contributing factor?

make sure your key is turned to on not running on not acc and door closed

temp should not matter but check the cd trouble shooting if you get problems

again make sure key is in on position

you might have to down load firmware from cobb maybe
