Thanks for the link to the Forced Performance reccomendations for engine oil! Very informative. Still doesn't make a case for non-synthetic, it makes a case for race oil for 600 hp engines. I don't think any of us with RAs are close to that but it is a good thing to keep in mind when we get there or for our Evo friends that are already there.
BTW, I use Mobil 1 and will switch to race oil when I change my turbo.

That guide on Forced Performance is ONLY for people running their RED and Black turbo upgrades. As the added zinc/phos is needed for their turbos bearing design.


130k hard *** miles and it's seen Mobil 1 EP or HM it's entire life. I wouldn't change up now if the oil was free

Personally i think royal purple is junk for boosted applications. I ran it for one oil change in my VIII then went back to mobile 1. RP broke down WAY faster, based on visual inspection and oil feel, than mobile 1.

I use 5w-30 year round and get 7500 miles between oil changes on full synthetic.

Mobile ! 5w30 has worked great for me in my 05 wrx and my 06IX SE both high hp cars....Hell mitsu recomends it, why change?

mobil 1, really hard to get anything this quality down here. Went to local dealer and they didn't even know what daiqueen was... fail. cuold really use some help with rear diff oil, here a can only get mobil1 LS 75W-90, is it safe?
