Ultimate Racing Turboback Exhaust Tune?

I talked to UR about their turboback exhaust and they said that if i got the HFC that the car wouldn't require a tune for the exhaust. I always thought that when you change out the DP and cat you would need a tune. What do you guys think?

To get the most out of the upgrade, you need a tune. But I don't think its required. I'm looking to do the same setup and I'll be running the same turboback exhaust for a while until I get the money to get a Cobb AP and use their stage 2 tune.

Well yeah obviously a tune will bring out the most in the exhaust but paying 400 now and 300 later for a tune is better than 700 at one time

I hear ya, I really don't think it will be a problem if you aren't tuned already. I hope someone else can chime in and confirm this.

Stage 2 Cobb is catback, highflow cat, and downpipe. Any additional mods will mess up the tune. Just a heads up. I'm running a Evo X FMIC with my Stage 2 and there's noticeable lag.

"Stage2 for vehicles with a turbo-back exhaust system. 93 or 94 Octane fuel. +26% HP / +30.3% lb. ft." <----right from cobb website

i would have to talk to my friend about using his cable and I need to buy the program then.

The big thing is that I just want to know that the car will be fine with a tbe installed on the stock map

I am running the UR turbo back and for one it sounds awesome. Definitely love the sound and performance over stock and the magnaflow catback I had. You would need to get a tune though for it. Would it be fine? Sure you could run with it like that, but you aren't going to get the full power from it. If you have a wideband then you could watch your before and after numbers and that would give you an idea of how it is affecting your car.

Main thing is to keep an eye on boost. Depending on what map you are running and how the boost control is setup... you may end up fighting with error correction as it is going to want to spike up higher than before with the freer exhaust.

Your just as likely to be fighting with error correction on the stock tune.. possibly even more so depending on what your currently running. You do have a boost gauge yes? Just saying it may feel a little wonky till you get it tuned for the free flowing exhaust.

Just saw your running the gst base map... with or without pill? Without pill I think your fine to leave the base map in there. it's gonna be slow as bawls without it, even with the exhaust. If it were me I would try to get hold of a tactrix cable and laptop to take Bryan up on his offer to do a base map for turbo back exhaust.
