Driveline info on info screen....

As what the title says...there is a complete driveline with wheels icon with steering turning to right and it says service required and it is also yellow as a warning signal? I stopped by the dealership and couldn't even explain what the possibilites are and "needed" to diagnosis which charging me almost $190. I find it funny cuz the "tech" person and service manager went to look at my car and I figured the "tech" should know the answer but to no availability. So I stopped by DynoTech here in Seekonk near my home and boy, he knows his stuff and thanks to you!! He says it is a possible AWC malfunction which is a possible cause. Also did a scan to it and it shows no DTC and doesn't show an idiot light (engine light) on. It also makes sense cuz I have noticed that I couldn't change my AWC button to change the conditions.

Now I will be bringing it to the dealer sometimes tomorrow or next day (different location and closer to my home, the place where I bought it, went out of business) I only have like close to 48K miles on it and I do know for a fact that it is under warranty.

My question to you guys, have anyone experienced the same problem before? I certainly hope to have a possible feedback about this situation.

BTW...BIG THANKS TO GUYS @ DYNOTECH!!! You will be seeing me soon for the full flush system of diff, transfer case and transmission.

IIRC, people who have gotten this message had to replace the AWC pump because in cold weather regions, like MA, the pump would burn itself out trying to move fluid that was too thick due to the extremely cold weather.

Mitsubishi issued a recall, or maybe it was just a TSB, to have the ECU reflashed to prevent this. Did you have this done?

Hmm.....interesting!! I never received any mail in regards to this situation. I will have this done to have them look at it tomorrow and take it from there but I do know one thing, I ain't paying a dime for this since it is only 47K on this and it is under warranty.

BTW...what does IIRC mean?

You took a stock car to a dealer with a Warning on the system and they wanted to charge you to diagnose it?

That is a clear warranty issue. If you ever cop that **** again ask to speak to the manager of the dealership.

BTW, the owners manual would have told you what the warning light was...... and probably includes some verbiage like "go straight to the dealer" that you could have shown to the tard boxes at the dealership to avoid the "diagnostic" fee.

This is why I went to another dealer. I was acting cool about it but inside my head was spinning in a roid rage to beat the crap out of that guy!! Even the tech person who couldn't even give an answer off the bat!!

So it has been dropped and I am positive it is clearly under warranty product. This place I went to while using my UTI school uniform in Taunton, MA and surely he could not do crap about me!! I checked into ALLDATA at my school today and it indicated an AWC malfunction as I have told him. He surely swallowed a pill on that one and says will charge a diagnosis fee of about 90 bucks "if" not under warranty but I am positive it is anyways an it is a hell of a lot better than the one in Walpole, MA since wanted to charge me 190!! But with the other guys experience and knowledge on the board surely helped my ideas of whats going on with my pride. I don't understand these dealerships nowadays especially being localized in certain areas.

Well, now I really feel much better!! Now that I have my car back. It does feel different as of now but surely will be doing the flush for the transmission, differential, and the transfer case soon. It is noticeable since I have gotten it back. It feels more responsive when I push it a bit. So that being said, here is the list of what has been done to my car......

MISC TSB FOR DTC C161E - PROGRAM SOFTWARE FAILURE.
UPDATED ACD ECU SOFTWARE & RE-CALIBRATE
SENSORS - ALL DATA CHECKED OUT OK

This is for the SRS recall that I never received a mail or info about....

C0906U SRS FRONT IMPACT SENSORS REPLACEMENT (SR-09-005)
RC PERFORM RECALL

This is what it says on my worksheet and yeah, I had to pay the diagnosis cost of 98.00 . But I am happy to have my car back. I couldn't bare the wife's car which is the 2007 Pontiac Vibe, although I do like the mileage that she gets!
