Plastic Valve Cover

So i decided to wipedown the engine bay and pulled off my Engine Cover. I was supprised to see that The head is made of black plastic. I have seen the engine bay shots in show and shine forum and a few other shots of peoples 4b11's with the engine covers off and they seem to have an aluminium head. I guess I allways asumed that was stock. Has this always been the case or somthing they changed in the 2011 model year?

I know in the 09 & 10 RA/ 08 X they are metal, looks like they changed the 11 RA's to the plastic valve cover just like the 10 and 11 X's.

If you're head was plastic, don't you think that would present just a little bit of an issue in the combustion process when temperatures get over 1000 degrees?

Never seen the plastic ones before, surprised that they would use plastic ones when they've been using metal before.

Didn't Know the 10/11 X's also had plastic, makes me feel a little better.

When I saw the name of this thread, I kind of expected some weird Barbie & Ken sex video.

Thankfully, that wasn't the casr.

Holy hell, just couldn't resist any longer huh? Welcome back.

OP, I fixed your title. Don't worry about it too much, as long as you're not turning it into a dedicated superpower racecar, which nobody really should, you'll be fine with the poly valve cover.
