Need Serious Answers.....
I'm in the process of building the RA.... Without getting into full details just had these questions I figured I ask the crowd...
Q: If MR's are Capable of making good power with over 400TQ can we RA guys do it?
Q: How much power will the Rear Diff and TC hold on the RA?
Q: How can we get the SST Trans to shift into the next gear MUCH quicker, similar to GTR gear changes?
Q: Will doing the SSP 10Disk Upgrade make the car shift any quicker or just support the increase in power?
Q: Can you run a Standalone ECU and Pick up a GSR trans and install Clutch pedal for it to work? Properly?
That's all the questions I have for now.... Thanks in Advance and NO I dont want to buy another Evo as I have a Built 9 and 1 Evo is enough. I wanna take the RA to the next level and get MORE exposure for it

I'm not a tuner, but a driver. This car will/could/need to benefit in two main areas, Trans and Suspension. No one ever complains of the diff's unless you're cruising a local nasa/scca rallyX forum. I've tested this car in D-Stock, but am even hesitant to load the trans with 'fear' of warranty woes. She's a serious underdog in SCCA Stock Solo. Unfortunately, as soon as you reach above that class in SCCA, they put you with the Evo
.
..Just an edit and thinking. This is why I think a lot are bailing on the RA now. They did not know what they wanted. This is a GTS geometry undercarriage and the after market isn't there for practical use. I can't get a stiffer damper without re-valves.

I'm on a Custom Setup, Swift Springs on Megan Racing Coilovers. The Megan Racing Struts are Capable of Supporting 14K Springs and that's directly from the R&D team from Megan/BCracing.... I also have a set of KW's but I dont use those YET until i see the full need to throw them on (Got them as a gift).
I dont plan on racing in Cones/SCCA Events. I've gone to Buttonwillow, Streets of Willow, Laguna Seca, and Cal Speedway.
I want to see how far I can take the RA vs Evo scene. I'm a Firm believer that the RA has potential it's just the people who drive them dont want to push it cause they dont want to feel like they're investing money into a car that you can do with an Evo. The RA doesn't have Super AWD, but it's very similar to NOT EXACTLY but similar to the Evo 9. RAW.....
I dont even know if this post made sense....

I'm heading down your same road. Next season I'll be stepping up on track days (road, of course), and need to get the car set-up properly. If you want to see what the tranny is capable of for shifting speed/strength meet up with me and we can go for a ride. While my ROM is a complete Frankenstein of patches, shifting logic/rev-matching is about as perfect as we can get at this point. I do quite a bit of testing for Rich a la Bryan.

So, serious answer time:
1). Wait for the Dodson/Exedy clutches to come out. Both AMS and Shep use Dodson products in their builds. I use an Exedy clutch in my car, and this is what I would have purchased in my RA, if push came to shove. (Dodson GTR Clutches Review)
2). Once it is possible to reflash the TCU with an MR ROM, then power will be more easily manageable (hopefully). There are tricks and such that will allow more power. However, I have only ever seen them used on street cars. I am not sure how such a thing would hold up, on the track.
3). I hate to say this, but if it is a 5-speed that you want, buy a GSR.

As far as the 5 Speed.... It just a question, Buying a GSR is a simple answer but again, I dont want to be stuck in the mentality that I'm starting ALLLLL OVER in a Evo vs a Ralliart that hardly anyone pushes to the limits. I mean hell, my car isn't that much slower than the Fastest RA for 1/4 Time.... And I'm on a basemap tweaked but have much more room for perfection. If a Swap and a Standalone is all that's needed than MAYBE..... Just maybe I'll do it
I'm a little confused with your statement NFS about you and the exedy clutch? You+Ralliart+Exedy =Possible? I'll look into the dodson setup.....

Same TC as the Evo. Rear Diff I believe is 99% the same as the 8/9. Cover is different but I think the insides/case is the same.
It will help with increase in power but it will NOT clamp any harder without reprogramming capabilities.
I have a GSR, not a Ralliart. For now, I am running an Exedy Stage 1 in my Evolution X. I had to "start over" in an Evolution. However, I was really lucky as my car already has a decent amount done to it. After I get done overhauling the transmission, which was in REALLY bad shape, she should be right about where I want her. I have a number of parts out being made for the X. Exedy is a brand that I am familiar with and trust. Dodson is the same. Those clutches are what I would buy, if I were in the market.

Not currently, the programming in the RA has much lower limits then the MR. I can say the TCU development is finally going forward now though.

See TCU info above. RA needs S-Sport for the really fast gear changes. Which hopefully will be reality soon.
