Noise during rain/snow

When it rains I get this weird whistle(sounds like it comes from the exhaust or something). This only happens when it rains, or snow. Im going to post a video soon but just wondering if someone has he same problem. I thought it could be something with the short ram and the vents or something, idk. My mods are in my sig

Sounds very similar the same sound I have, however mine is there pretty much all the time. It is more prominent when the engine is cold and usually from 2-3k rpm. I think it is the air moving through the UICP, since mine only started after I installed the UR uicp. As for why it is only there during rain or snow, I can only think it is due to the drop in barometric pressure which happens when it rains or snows or just the cold air. Since we both have UR uicp, maybe it is causing the problem. Maybe others out there might have a similar issue with their UR pipe.

The noise is much louder than regular driving and I took the video on my phone. It only happens when it rains and recently, when it snows

the only things i heard in the video were the turbo and your exhaust, if there were any other noises to be heard, they could not be discerned from video...

HAHA, It's True!!!
I was at RRE a little bit ago, and they were making fun of all us 08+ owner's (X and RA), cuz we always show up saying 'my car is making a weird noise!'. They will jump in the car for a quick trip around the block:
Frantic Owner: "See, right there that noise!"
RRE Empl: "Uhhhh, what noise??"
FO: "You don't hear that.....see it just did it again!"
RRE: "Ummmm....yeah....I don't hear anything at all. You want to hear 'weird noises', try driving a DSM"
It's OK, I totally do the same thing; just means you got love for your car

if you're talking about that sound that sounds like someone playing with a slide whistle or almost like a police siren in the distance, it's the turbo...

I get that sound as well. I only started to notice it when I changed my WGDC. Prior I had the 3-port activating really early on, but I didn't like the constant clicking at very low speeds. So I zeroed it out in the low RPM range (it was at 1500+, but now 2500+). Now when crusing, like in the video, I get that sound. My thought is it's air squeezing around the un-pressured flapper arm. Better than prematurely burning out the GS (theoretically it's possible).

Well due to a 'service transmission' warning, I have gone 100% stock. And well I still have the whistle sound. I thought it was due to the UICP, since that is when I first noticed it when I installed it. It only happens when I am on the gas, not when coasting. I am wondering, is the turbo always spinning? On another thread someone said something about the throttle body. From all my logging my boost is fine, so can't see it being the turbo. Anyways, have to take it to dealership to check transmission, maybe they will have an idea of what this sound is.

The sound in the video is tied directly to the turbo building positive pressure (you can see that from his gauge). If he kept accelerating into positive boost the sound would disappear.

I got that today. Sometimes I get a loud metl scraping sound too (has nothing to do with boost since it still makes the sound when coasting in neutral). Only happened twice, and goes away and won't replicate. Anyone else had that metallic whistle sound during a torrential downpour?
