Hey Spider21! This is OT but I noticed your sig, and you have the NFS bracket and Kore-3 calipers. Can you PM me or post here your complete set up for your brakes. Because I'm currently gathering everything I need to order. NFS said the brackets will be out again soon, and Im jumping on this asap.

Thanks.
Yes on Ralliaaron for the numbers....

I got stock EVO X Rotors and the Corvette C5 Calipers and his brackets was a pretty easy install and worked with stock Ralliart wheels

My car was tuned conservatively, and that was before my rails and pump.

I have stock pump and stock injectors and stock rail also I am running modified evo x muffler but pretty much stock over all on the catback and mine was conservative also since I drive mine 30k miles a year and has to be ultra reliable.

bad news:(

So I sent off a evo x exhaust manifold a few weeks back to MAP for port and polish.. so then a week or so later they sent it back to me, by this time I was dont with my build and decided to install the ported mani after I break in the turbo.. Well time has come to install it, so I drove down to mitsubishiparts.net picked up a new gasket and when home.. Upon opening the box from MAP and looking over the nicely ported manifold I noticed a crack just inside the exit portion of the manifold, inbetween the two "scroll" area.. And the crack is all the way through..... Talk about dissapointed

Needless to say Ive been on the phone and emailing them pictures of the crack, and trying to get them to do something about it. Now I realize that I did send them a manifold and it may have been cracked to begin with, BUT if indeed this is the case They should have notified me right away and told me about it.. Then I would have told them to stop, pay them for their labor thus far, and figure something els out.. But as it went, they ported the entire manifold and sent it back to me with crack...

One thing to note is that when I called them about the progress of my turbo the gentleman on the phone informed me that they just recieved my manifold and have some on the shelf that he would send to cut the turn around time.. If this is the case then they sent me a bad one off the shelf..

So today I just mailed it back to them so they can get a better look and hopefully rectify this matter for me..

What do you guys/gals think of this situation?? What would you do in my shoes?

Thanks

I'd say they should take care of it for you by sending you a good one or at the very least refund what you paid. It MAY be that you sent in a bad one, and they did the work on it and sent it back, but that should be something they notice. Cost of doing business and not triple checking everything.

They should have contacted me as soon as they noticed it, then go from there. BUT s*** happens..
I will be very pleased if they do send me back a good one

I sure as heck hope so..

Since I sent them the manifold back, if they dont send me back a good one, than at least take off the $350 i paid, off the price of a tubular manifold?? I would be happy with that option too.

Looks like a casting fault. Would of been hell obvious to the person porting it out

Your right Nunyas. But in no way did I intent to "talk smack" about them. They have been great people and have taken good care of me thus far. I posted to get your opinion on the situation. What would you do in my situation?

I just dont want to be left with a $350 port job on a useless manifold. I wish they would have called or emailed telling me that they found a crack. then I would have taken a different route.

Disclosure, I think the people at MAPerformance are great people and provide a great product, no way are my posted intended to disrespect or offend anyone, they are simply a "what would you do in my shoes" kind of post.

Thanks

Update

SO Map emailed me telling me that the crack is due to a deficiency in the casting process. Also noting that most of evo x manifolds are like this and the porting makes the appearence of the crack more pronounced and the crack will probly not spread.

Hmmm, I'm kinda curious as to how many other people are running the same manifold with cracks in it. Any suggestions?

I dont think Id feel good about running this mani with a crack. Maybe everything is fine and it would hurt.. SHould I install the mani or not..
