Engine System Service Required
Hello All.
Recently I was stopped at a set of lights and I got a warning light come up on the dash with the statement "Engine System Service Required".
I read the fault codes and returned "P0012". I then took it to a mechanic who removed the rocker cover and checked my timing chain, which I was told is completely fine (no stretching). I was then told that the error pertained to a faulty VVT. The mechanic changed this out for me however roughly 24hrs after I have left the mechanic, I was stopped at the very same traffic light and the same warning has come up.
Anybody out there have some idea of what might be going on? I've already spent just over a grand trying to figure it out, perhaps I should have come here first :P

P.S. 2013 lancer ralliart, auto, no mods, 92,000km, decent service history, recently had the transmission serviced, haven't noticed any loss of power, misfires or unusual noises, mainly freeway driving.
