Blacked Out Hood Scoop

To continue creating a more aggressive front end I decided to black out the center hood scoop. I thought I had seen someone do it this way when I was looking through threads before I bought the car but I could only find the car that had the entire scoop blacked out.

This is matte/flat black vinyl. I removed the scoop from the car and then used blue painters tape to make a template. Transferred this template to the vinyl, cut it out and applied it. I used the following threads to help with removing the scoop (did have to break the 2 clips on the scoop to take it out).

Excuse my GTI trying to sneak into the picture. I think it wanted one last photo before going back to VW tomorrow.

looks great, good work. i think mike (08Lancer89) has this done on his white ra, improves the look a lot. should probably do this to mine sometime soon too, now that i think about it.

Is his just the center or the whole scoop? Like I said in the post I thought I saw this style before but I could only find the entire scoop painted recently.

I got it from a shop that specializes in vehicle wraps. But you can also get it from a sign shop as well.

Ask for Oracle vinyl if they have it.

Let me know if you guys are looking for vinyl. I have a roll of ORACAL matte/flat black. I do custom stickers and signs but I bought a roll of matte black especially to do my front lip and scoop.

k, im not crazy then. i finally got around to doing it myself, and it looks pretty good, but i have the stability of a crack-fiend in my hands and the cuts are pretty awful by my **** standards, so i am having a friend use my template to smooth everything out and laser cut a piece for me. should be sweet
