Thumbs up Full Support

I actually think a fog light delete would look great...

Photo hacked examples:

With fog lights:

Somehow smoothed over:

And full delete:

I decided to quit being lazy (it isn't THAT cold down here in Houston lol), and finished the job. Hardest part was the wiring/connectors. I rummaged through an old amp for some metal to use as a connector into the old fog-light plug. Found enough to make 4 metal strips (2 prongs each plug). The wire mesh had such a high level of friction it could probably stay on by itself when wedged in there, but I ziptied them at two points. Not a perfect job, but so far I'm happy with it. Maybe I'll try a better set later - I kept the stencil to cut new meshes in the future.

SO HERE THEY ARE

will get more pics at work tomorrow, but decided to get some night shots now since...well it was night lol

doesn't mean you should stop your FLD project at all though chi-town

Here's a daytime shot, can take more if you need me to, just ask what angle

car's filthy from the weather. It's a nice day today but weather says it's going to rain tomorrow, so no car wash =[

I really like how they turned out. I might redo the driver-side because I think it's a little crooked. Not sure what else I could do to improve on the design though

Do they look as "tacked on" in real life as they do in the pics?

Not sure, all perspective/opinion I guess. to me of course I like it. It's not perfect (I'm no craftsman, just did this as my own little project). I know if this inspired a vendor to make a set of these I would buy them

It was either saw off the bumper housing of the fog light, or make these to cover up the housing. This option was a lot less permanent and I like how the LED bar matches the lines of the car rather than the circle "dimples" that are the factory fog lights

if you want a different angle or position just ask. If you stand up really close to it you can tell it wasn't done from factory or anything and it's imperfect, but up close detail is not really what you buy lights for right?

So how do you remove the fog lights? Do you have to remove the bumper?

nope. just the one screw on the upper/inner corner of the plastic fog-lamp surround and yank the plastic surround out of there (i find it easiest to just grab onto the mesh and pull). then it's three philips head screws holding the fog lens in place

Aftermarket LEDs in place of fog light

I was thinking of installing these into the fog light housing of my stock 2011 RA.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/8000K...0fac#vi-ilComp

But since I have no experience with cutting/working with plastics/FG, I don't know how to fit them. Do I need to do fog deletes in order to get them installed? Any advice is appreciated.
