Awsome! why has no-one thought of that? Lets block all our factory gauges with a steering wheel mount... uuuh no!The ones that go on top of the gauge cluster look like butt poop! I like the a pillar mounts, but this is less obstructive! I bet people would buy those.

maybe double hump it, so it mimics the stock cluster shroud?

That does look very nice. I think that if the "finish" includes a small edge detail like the oem gauge cluster it would look awesome. It may not need two humps but maybe just one gentle curve from one side to the other may make it more seamless or it may ruin it. When I visualize it, it could go either way.

It is looking good. A slight angle towards the driver and the double-hump look would finish it off.

Oh, and wash your hands after sanding it before you hop in your car!

honest comment: I find it a little bit too big. it would be better if it's not taller than the OEM cluster.

its the way the dash slopes up. its only about 3.5 in tall. I had to make that tall to allow defrost.

You're actually right. I just check back on my own setup, it's quite tall as well. I guess it's just the angle your took the picture that confused me.

btw here is my setup:

Here's an idea of how to handle the vent. The pod would come flush to the dash panel (about 2 more inches forward).
