Question Front license plate brackets?

I'm looking for an alternative to drilling into the bumper of my RA and I'm looking for some alternatives that don't involve zip ties. If you know of some alternatives, please post the links please. I think this maybe helpful for some others aswell.

You can do the no drilling method with the Evo X plate..

I personally don't see the problem with it being drilled. If the Evo X plate is going to be there and stay there, what's the point of having a possibility of it coming off? I went to the dealership and they installed my Evo X plate free of charge. Drilled of course.

The dealer did offer to mount it originally , but i wanted to see other options, but now based what i've researched, even some local evo owners say just to mount it evo x style and be done with it. Hopefully my dealer will still throw it on for nothin'. Its only been a week so... we'll see.

It takes, literally, 5 minutes to do. I don't see why they wouldn't.

others have just used 3m tape or velcro right to the back of the plate. If you get a JDM front crash beam you can also but a license plate tow how hook mount

Ok, I went to the dealer and they told me they did not recommend mounting it with the evo x mount . the parts guy said the bumper are different and would ruin the bumper and may even crack the fiber glass. They have the mount tho, is this something i'll have to do myself or should I check a body shop? I'm concerned they may be BS'in me a little if you guys got RAs and had it done... let me know whats your take. thanks

That's bs. Front bumper is the same on x to RA. It seems like they don't want to make any money. Search oem mitsubishi parts website. U can order for like 39.99 plus shipping. I mounted mine like 6 months ago. Took it off other day to clean under it. No cracks or anything.

And that is why the parts guy is a parts guy...

The bumpers are different, but that does not prevent you from installing the front plate bracket onto your car. The only difference is that the lower/outer edge of the bracket will sit slightly away from the bumper where the Evo's bumper would normally flare out.

The overall bumper curvature is basically the same and you just need to position the bracket about 1" below the bottom of the headlight and then simply slide it left to right until the curve along the top of the bracket sits flush with the bumper. Then hold it there and use a marker or paint pen to mark the mounting holes for drilling.

I had the OEM plastic one on my car for a while, but i didn't like that gap or what I perceived to be a huge amount of plastic surrounding the front plate. So, I ended up replacing it with a Beatrush license plate holder. It's made for JDM plates so the screw holes don't line up with US license plate screw holes (i.e. I had to drill new holes in my front plate), but it gives a "cleaner" over all look to the front plate, IMO.

Thanks for the help guys, I have access to some good body shops, I may have them walk me through it , but i'm going to make a decision soon and I do appreciate the info. Hopefully some future new RA guys or gals can use this info
