Sorry for your loss, hopefully he went peacefully. Reference that car, at least it can be repaired, just make sure that they check the front axle and suspension on that corner.

If you have collision coverage use your insurance and pay the deductible. They will go after her insurance company and when it's sorted out they will send you back the deductible. May be quicker, easier and less problems.
