Hey, what do you guys think about the new HKS SSQ ... this one does not have the adjustment screw on the Back ... so when you bolt it up it automatically adjusts it self so you wont have the dreaded Idle Problems ...

Any body running one of these new valves on there Evo as yet ??

I had it on my 05 Evo 8. Worked perfectly VTA or recirculating with out a tune. Its it only for 04-05 evo's

 

Tuning has nothing to do with BOVs anyway. VTA never works "perfectly" if you have a MAF. Some of the symptoms just may not be obvious.

How is it only for 04-05s? What's different about 03s?

 

The only difference was that there was no adjustment screw and the box said 04+ Evo's

 

Well he said its working perfectly even when he is VTA ... Warrtalon what invisible problems you think might be associated ...

It should work for any model Evo .... Older Evos may have to use the Unerversal kit and costom fit it ...

This is definatley something all you guys who want to VTA should look into .... HKS should be updating there site with the specifics on how this ones works and why it doesn't need the adjustment screw ..

 

The fact that you even have to ask speaks volumes. Considering your name, your tack, and your join date, I would venture to guess you will be selling these...

We cannot VTA with a MAF, PERIOD.

Here we go the BOV battles has just started

 

You have to specific when you say "tuning has nothing to do with BOV". I should have also been specific. If I tune with a AEM and have the MAF removed option done. I am all the way with VTA.

But if you feel that the evo is running good with a MAF and you VTA and you like the sound what the heck keep it VTA. Its your car do what ever you like. When I had it I ran it in recirculating mode and it was perfect and I also try it VTA and it felt like no problem. But since alot has been discussed on this issue I chose to recycle it. But that was my choice.

 

Nah, we were talking about in a MAF system only. You said yours worked perfectly in VTA mode without a tune. That was referring to regular tuning, not the use of a standalone ems and removal of the MAF system. It's not like you get a VTA BOV and say, "Hmm, if I get tuned for this it will be fine. Ok, let me go buy a $1500 standalone and remove my MAF so the BOV will work." Come on now...

 

What the Hell man ... I just bought one of them .. have no intention of selling them ... My name is HksSSq simple because i Love the Vavle doing research i heard evo guys have allot of probs with the SSQ, just wanted to know if the new one worked any better ..
