VIDEO: Dynoflash 2step launch control

Al's down in VA today tuning a ton of IXs and I figured while he's around, I'll take advantage and have him add his new launch control feature to my car. He took my ECU and added it, as well as smoothing out my idle a little bit and a few other tweaks.

It's awesome! It works perfectly, and he even tweaked my tune a little bit while he was at it. I went out and did some testing and a few launches as well as 3rd gear pulls and everything's perfect. Launch control perfect at 6K, AFRs perfect, etc. etc. Unfortunately I didn't get video of my launch control yet because VA's finest decided to come "hang out" with us for a while, but I did manage to get some video of Warrtalon's car first. We can't wait to get out to the track and test these babies out. Thank you again Al!

Thank you for the ECU tweaks. The car seems even stronger and the idle is great.

wow a stutter box. GSX owners have been using those for ages. Im suprised it took the EVO owners so long to figure it out.

BTW perfect launch for the evo is 5500 not 6K. and for anyone who asks, i owned an 03 BBY Evo8.

It has nothing to do with the Evo owners - we all know what a stutterbox is, and many of us came from DSMs (I had 3), but it depends on the type of tuning. We didn't have flashes like this for our DSMs, so this is significant, since it's the first flash with a 2-step.

Also, to say that any one rpm is perfect for an Evo is just ridiculous. All Evos are different and all drivers are different, so it's dependent upon many factors. Not to mention the fact that it can be moved to any rpm the owner desires. Mine just happens to be 6k...

The 2 step is a great feature and Warrtalon is right in that every car has a different optimum launch point. This is dependent on the driver, clutch, tires, etc. More importantly every track differs in its starting line and the same track will differ depending on how much traction compound is put down, other cars leaking crap, etc, etc. Al has done a great thing in making the 2 step but it will be perfected when he makes one that is adjustable without getting reflashed. In my DSM I was using an ECU from www.dsmchips.com. It had a stutter box that was adjustable by depressing the gas pedal with the car not running and the ignition in the on position. It offered four different selections, i.e. 5250, 5500, 5750, and 6000K and I often used different launch points on the same day due to track conditions to get the best 60'.

Gotta love launch control, especially on a bigger turbo, building boost is huge. Nice demonstration!

I hate to admit my stupidity but let me guess how this flash works.
Based on some input like clutch position or whatever the car is interupting ignition to limit the RPM to some preset level like 6000 rpm. When you let out the clutch the normal rev limiter and tune take over?
