Evo Ix Rear Bumper Conversion ?

I read the thread about the evo IX rear bumper conversion and how you can't retain the rear bumper support beam. Here is my question: can you order the JDM rear bumper support beam from japan to be bolted on to replace the USDM one? I don't have an evo yet but I will be getting one shortly. I have a Civic with a full body kit and I had to remove the front beam on my civic and doing so provides absalutly no support to the front bumper and is extremely flimsy. When I do the rear bumper conversion on the IX I don't want to run into that problem with it. Also if you guys could post pics or just names of rear bumpers that don't require the removal of that support beam it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks guys and galls!!

I`ve looked through every thread about this specific topic on the JDM rear support beam but only found the front not rear. And to be honest my eyeballs hurt from all the looking.

You have to keep in mind that the JDM rear is an OEM Mitsu part and not a cheap, flimsy body kit part. It uses all the stock hardware and mounting locations and it's shape is held very true, even without the beam being there. Of course in a rear-end crash, it'll be a different story.

same reason why our 9 has the old bumper... there is no way the crash beam will fit on the the new 9 rear bumper.

yes... the jdm 9 rear bumper do come with a jdm crash beam. From what i've read, Adam from Z1auto should have them in stock. THe US one won't fit and i dunno if its possible to modify the rear so that the crash bar will fit. Hope this helps.

Gruppe-S has been selling the JDM rear IX bumpers for a long time and get them directly from Mitsu Japan from what I have read somewhere. The JDM Evos DO NOT Come with a Crash beam. Therefor there is no Crash beam for the JDM IX Bumpers. I could be wrong...ask Gruppe-S.

actually the JDM Evo does have one....it's not much of one, but it's there - fits squarly in the center of the rear bumper and is shaped like a rectangle

Mitsubishi calls it rear bumper reinforcement

we don't make any in house, instead, we simple include everything Mitsu offers for the back - the plate bracket, the toe hook cover, the bolts, the clips..everything

we do not sell them seperately, only with the bumpers
