Replacement "fiber" shim for pads???
Recently replaced stock pads and re-used metal shim from stock. However, I did not realize there was a "fiber" shim also attached to the pad. Needless to say, this was not transferred to new pads. I'm experiencing some squeeling and I believe this may be the reason.
I've since discarded with the old pads and no way to retrieve the fiber backing.
Anybody know of any replacement options?
Thanks,
Chris

Dunno either... I did Porterfield R4S's recently and light squeeling(after warm up) is encountered even after tactfull placement of synthetic grease on all friction points. My R4S's never made noise on my Benz no matter how hard I stood on em but that was a whole different car and different parts. I hear the Brembo pistons 'slapping' the pad now since I didnt retrieve the fibre backing off the old pads. Anybody chime in on this one?
Im thinking ultra-thin sheet of neoprene in there will help

You can go to your local Checkers auto or other parts store. In the HELP! section there is a brake squeal stopper or soemthing like that. It is a grey shim that sticks to the pad. One of those on each pad will fix your wagon.
