Saikou Michi DC3 Catch Can Review
I recently purchased the DC3 to put my car back to the way it came from the factory. I have been venting the valve cover and letting the oil/vapor drip to the ground. This is all good and fine, except it dosent allow your crankcase to vent properly...
So, after ordering an adapter from ATP to allow me to install an vacuum fitting on the intake, as mine did not come with a vcv nipple, I was ready to install the catch can.
First off let me say, the construction is absolutly perfect! The welds for the bracket are...well...perfect. There is more than enough length on the hose kit and the mounting bracket allows for a vast array of mounting positions.
I installed my single catch can below the intake, right beside my radiator fan controller. Installation is very straight forward. If you have any questions on the install there is already a how to on this exact setup.
Check out the pics, I highly reccomend this piece to anybody who either has a catch can now or is looking to get one as these are not only functional, but looks great!

Nice review kmconn9
I noticed some oil residue in my pipes and searched oil catch can.
This review popped up and in conjunction with the 6-page thread related to the Saikou Michi DC3 I decided to buy one.

I am going to get the single can as well. The double is nice but you dont really need to vent your PCV valve. Of course you can, but if I eventually do I will run two single cans so I dont have hoses running all over the place to a one can. I think I will do the intake like yours Kevin, then put another single can on the firewall for the PCV.

While this may be true, I am eliminating the most crucial blow by that is generated as the blow by that comes from the breather side of the valve cover is what gunks up the intake/turbo/licp/and fmic.
All that the pcv valve is doing is dumping that blow by into the intake manifold which mixes with fuel and goes back into the motor. This mixing of oil and fuel has shown no effect on octane....
Sure, it would be good to have one, but it is not nearly as crucial as the breather side as thats what ruins turbos and makes fmic's inefficient..
