here is a car we just did that had a stg3 motor from buschur with our twincsroll 4088R turbokit at 26 psi on pump gas and 40psi on race gas. it made 694whp and 559tq but the injectors were running out of out fuel (only 1000cc inj) and the cams werent big enough (only buschur 272s) so the run was aborted before we could make over 700. that will have to wait until next week

Sean will swap in some 1200cc injectors, some tomei 280 cams + cam gears and then retune, but after that i am most excited to install some bigger and the borgwarner 91-79 turbo (their version of a 40R). After that it needs a better intake manifold (i dont like this wilson stock ported deal) and buschur had put a 3" intake tube so we will switch that to a 4"

i can put up some pics and vids if anyone is interested, some more info is here:

what about a 3.5"dp? My whole reason for asking is that the supra guys when using a pt67 or hire will use 4"dp for faster spool therefore im curious as to whether its needed or not for the evo.

Even on the Supras with a 67mm, the difference in spool is pretty small between a 3" and 4" downpipe. When you move up to the bigger turbos(71mm+) it becomes more noticeable. On the Supras, the 3" vs 4" is also for a little bit extra power up not, and not so much the spool.

Not sure how the 3" would fit, never tried it but I think it might not fit still. On something like the 4088R a 3" is fine because its smaller than something like a PT67, which works fine with a 3" dp.

FullRace, for reference, if that's the car I think it is that is an old Stage 3 stroker that was pulled out of a wrecked EVO8 and put into the owners new EVO9. It was requested that we re-use as much from the old EVO8 set up as possible.

The car looks like it made good flat power all the way to 8,000 rpm. Not sure what you find wrong with the BF272 cams or the Wilson V2 intake manifold, seem to be working pretty good to me.

Since you don't follow the forums much I'll let you know that those cams and intake manifold on my RS ran 9.04 at 159.64 mph, seem to work pretty well.

My suggestion would be to increase the primary diameter on the header and get rid of the poor transition at the cylinder head on the header. I also agree on the 4" intake for the car. When the car was at our shop the owner only wanted it tuned on pump gas and did not want to keep spending money on it. Obviously he either got a sponsor or changed his spending habits, which is great for you guys.

Power looks great, don't get me wrong. I just think you may be targeting the wrong parts for replacement.

Since exhaust was brought up. We've had over 1,000 whp made through out 3.5" exhaust system. My RS is still running our off the shelf 3" exhaust with our single bullet muffler in it, I already mentioned how fast it's gone I can't imagine anyone with an EVO needing an 4" exhaust.
