EcuFlash 2.0 Beta testing dyno results
I am sorry if I seem a little off topic guys, but what exactly is ecuflash 2.0
? I thought the latest version was 1.40 that colby was trying to get working for the new CAN interface on the EVO's. Is 2.0 a non public release? Any details would be appreciated. Thanks.

if you look it says beta bro...2.0 hasnt been released, razorlab is one of a few people who are beta testing it out for the Evo X
if you didnt know beta is a word used when something is in a test phase and this isnt a final production of it, beta testing helps find and remove bugs so that less problems occur when its released to the public

Thank you for that. I noticed the beta and understand its meaning very well being a programmer. I was just amazed that I couldn't really find ANY details abt it online. At the very least, I thought I'd be able to find out what the feature-set aim of 2.0 is to include in it. Also, since the numbering has changed from 1.XX to 2.XX, i am guessing this is a major release upgrade. I would be very interested to know more about 2.0.

its going to include a new organization setup for evos 7-9 as well, all the maps that have been renamed for there true purpose were asked to be changed as well as other smaller maps that were found, for instance lean spool....
How do I get on that Beta testing list?
My X and the Mustang dyno needs sometime together. I really hope it gets release soon. Seems like the beta tester(s) are doing pretty good with it. Hopefully by the time I get an FP Red the software is in full release.
Keep up the good work.

Some more testing:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2008 Evo 10 MR
Mods:
100% all stock
+32whp / +24wtq peak gains
This is a conservative tune with no mods (not even our boost assembly) as I want to see how the MR's SST reacts with the tune before we give it more power.
This MR will be back in the shop in a couple weeks or so for a upgraded boost assembly, some other upgrades and more power pending how the car behaves over the next couple weeks.

Stock tune had the dip at 6500 rpm on all three baseline pulls.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2008 Evo 10
Mods:
Greddy Ti-C catback
Open Intake Filter
Stock DP and Cat
Upgraded boost assembly using ECU-controlled boost
+40whp / +36wtq peak gains
+51 whp @ 6000 rpm
+62 wtq @ 3200 rpm
Notice how smooth the curves are with the open filter and boost assembly.

I am sure it's just different dyno's and all. But I was curious, since i think you have tuned AP's as well Razorlab, how come I keep seeing evo's with a boost controller and maybe an exhaust hitting close to 350 with the cobb. Ecuflash has all the same capabilities as the cobb as far as I know, but seems to be a little lower on the dyno, any comments?
The reason I ask is because I was set on the cobb, then I asked the only local tuner that I really trust for sure and he said he isn't buying the cobb software since once ecuflash comes it they will probably release their software for free to compete and he doesn't want to get burned like they did with the 8/9 evo's and he said ecutek will be dead when ecuflash comes out. He basically said wait for ecuflash, which is what I am leaning towards now, but was curious on your views of its capabilities and why the dyno's seem a little lower. I assume it is great from what I have seen and the overall area under the graph looks great, and i trust my tuner so a little enlightenment would be great, thanks.

^^^^^^Can you post up the graphs of the same dyno showing the cars with an AP showing more gains than a Ecuflash?
Comparing dyno charts of different cars with different mods and different dynos is all speculation.

Obviously not, otherwise I wouldn't have asked the question, i was simply asking razor since i believe he has tuned with both and i assume on the same dyno. I was asking him if the dyno was the reason or something else...

Should have a Evo X protuned here very shortly. Remember these are all just tools. Some work quicker, some are more informative, some are more robust.
In the end, it's the tuner tuning the car, not the software.
I've tuned evo 8's and 9's with EcuFlash and the Accessport, and they both make the same power.
One software program doesn't have a button that goes to 10, and the other software program doesn't have a button that goes to 11.
I try not to get into the dyno wars so I won't speculate what a dyno from say, New Jersey reads compared to a different make of dyno here in California.

Well despite feeling that Cobb is a good product, I decided to wait it out and do ECUflash. It was the best or at least most widely used for the older Evo's, so I trust it. Also just more money for other mods.
Question though. Does it have the stock Map saved somewhere, or can you download it to your laptop in case you ever want to put that back on?
