The dealer I bought the Evo at was a Mitsu/Nissian dealer, almost walked out with the 370z.

After driving a 370Z, the improvements over the 350Z are night and day! And I am so glad the trunk is more useable as well.

Guys, as much as I respected this car in the past(which I still do off course) I am afraid to announce publicly the huge pitfall on the 370Z. According to multiple 370Z owners this car comes with a huge underengineer overheating issue that is putting the 370z into a limp mode after lapping 4, 5 or 6 laps on road courses.

This is a mirror to what happened to the BMW 335i when they were first launched with no oil cooler. Nissan held the dishonest report until last minute so that it wouldn't affect sales.

If you don't believe me then go ahead and do the search on your own.

the 370z very impressive, i might consider trading in my g35c 6mt for one, i was reading somewhere in a magazine that a reflash/piggy back? on the new stock g37/370z yields about 80hp?
I believe the chip was a techno square or something like that...

Have they since fixed the issue?

There are several options on the table:

Recalls
Money back
upgrades on your own

etc.

This is the number one issue on the 370Z right now.

This is serious issues folks, we are talking about reliability issues worst than cars in the 20 and 30's(1920s and 1930s that is)

Glad my evo is comes with one, even if I don't take it to the track.

^^ plus one. When it comes to presenting an all around performance vehicle a mere $400 oil cooler(factory cost) should be included. Now the shortcut in the long run will cost them a whole lot more of moeny.

I would be glad to see Nissan recalling all the 370Z and refitting them with an oil cooler.

That's terrible. I wonder how much Nissan's PR will be hurt by this. It amazes me what some companies get away with and are still able to sell cars.

I seem to remember some kid being killed when his 350Z front suspension snapped, like a control arm, and people were readying a class action suit about that. I guess it never gained traction.

Seriously, how big a deal would it have been to add an oil cooler?

Sounds like a issue when the first BMW 335i came out (twin turbo) and had horrible oil overheating issues, now fixed ofcourse. Glad I went with the X, and not the Z.

I hope Nissan can offer some type of compensation (in terms of a fix) to those first year 370z buyers who probably paid a premium for their cars and were a driving advertisement for them.

Well, now that I think about it, its like a perfect storm - or whatever. IF the cars only over heat their oil while on the track, and not while Molly Hairdresser is on her way to the beauty salon, then Nissan won't do ****. IF you want to race your car all competition style and whatever, you're on your own and if it means beefing the car up then Nissan is right there ready with their $1240 intalled kit.

If you buy a performance car, you should be able to at least let it stretch its legs with out worrying whether or not the motor is going to blow. This is a feature that will increase the longevity of the vehicle as well as give owners and their families peace of mind that they will not be left stranded because Nissan goofed, sorry but I am going to completely dissagree with you. People shouldn't be told how to drive their cars within the local and federal laws, if they are paying for a sports car, a sports car is what they shall recieve.

Dont take offence to my stance, its just my opinion.
