Glad to hear that you back your products 1000% seeing as though I purchased your Upper and Lower IC pipes.

Do you have some sort of sideloaded pressure from the rest of your exhaust trying to force the O2 DP open at the weld?

I'm not sure how? I was previously using the UR high flow cat mounted to the stock points.

Now I'm using the ur test pipe, mounted to the same place.

I've been wondering the same thing though. Both times though have come after a track day at a track with a long straight (you run through 3rd, 4th and into 5th before a double downshift to 3rd).

I also have an Ams engine mount, so the motors not flexing around much either.

I'm thinking that the high exhaust temps are making the small welds in the thin steel brittle, so they crack.

I don't have issues with the AMS downpipe

That's a big issue with welded downpipes instead of cast. Probably some form of stress is exerted on the downpipe causing it to fail multiple times.

Damn, that's got to be very frustrating. By now you must hold the record for the most O2/DP installs on the same car. If you account for all the hours spent on just that one part, it's not worth it and I would cut my losses. You should probably look at one with a flex section and the AMS cast one is very, very nice.

It does have a small flex section at the bottom.

And yes this will be the 4th install (initial, clutch, 1st break, this break). Assuming I don't get any broken bolts I expect it to take about 2 hours to replace this time :lol.

I think in this case is a design flaw that puts stress on a particular part of the downpipe causing the cracking issue. Technically, the weld should be the strongest part if done properly.

I think if you drive the NE you will want a cast piece, just seems to be more durable with all the salt in the area during the winter.

I would just get the AMS cast and be done with it.

Open dump keeps me off some tracks. And honestly the test pipe is driving me nuts.

And unfortunately I don't poop money so I can't eat the money I've spent on this piece (initial purchase, expedited shipping on the 1st replacement, labor to fix my hotside when bolts broke removing the last one). I might be throwing good money after bad though.
