2 step (powershifting)

We are in the process of switching over to the EMS on our EVO this week. Does anyone know how to hook up the 2 step where we won't have to lift the throttle to shift the car. We used this on our old DSM back in the day and it worked great. We have to wire in something for the clutch, but don't remember exactly. If anyone has some info on it that would help a lot.

You'll need to hook up some sort of switching mechanism on the clutch pedal, then wire it into the AEM and configure that input to activate/deactivate the 2-step. I haven't done the install personally, but that's what I plan on doing. In fact, I'd like to set up a 2nd switch so I can turn no-lift-to-shift on and off at the flip of the 'secondary' switch so heel+toe won't be limited.

As far as which input to use, check out the file that comes in the AEM folder for the 30-1313 box (evo, obviously). It lists all the pins/inputs, etc for the EMS box. So, just pick an input that you don't use anymore, wire in your switch, tell the 2-step to activate by that switch and voila, you have it. That help at all???

Thanks for the help. We just installed the AEM. We had the Autronic before.

Sorry about pulling back a dead thread...but....I have a question about this as well. I am moving from DSMLink to EMS. Does anyone have no-lift-to-shift functional yet?

Directions?

check out www.aempower.com , it has all the answers you need. I have seen specific setup instructions on it.

yeah I have it, works great, my launch control is out of this world, how about 15 psi free-revving at 5500rpm sitting still, smooth, no backfires, no ignition cut

Can you explain how you pulled it off? You are the first person that has claimed they have it functional.

Yes on my AEM EMS powered talon the 2step works like a charm on launch and flatshifting..

Tap the wire from the clutch switch and run it into any sw input for the EMS, and then program it within the EMS. I'm not going into the actual EMS programming, use a search button on the aempower.com forums.

It's the same procedure when you do it in a stage 3 chipped ecu for any dsm, only you need a diode inline from the clutch switch for the chipped ecu to work on the 2step and flatshifting. Which I was using before I went AEM.
