Tune for altitude
Tune for altitude
Can anybody answer the qustion: Do I need to tune AEM EMS for altitude (already tuned for sea level). \
Also, I have been told that I will destroy my engine by running pump gas when tuned for race gas...what do people do when they go cross country in their race tuned evos? I know that I will get knock and lower performance but does knock and detonation really kill the engine or just if driven really hard?

i would also have a highly tuned map for my altitude and preferred gas. if tuned too tightly, you will have to have it retuned every spring and autumn to be safe, but you will get the most amount of horsepower and torque possible.
the simple answer to your question is yes, you will need to have your tune take your altitude into account.
