AEM also has their own solenoid to run with the EMS. It's quite a bit nicer than the GM one...doesn't leak. It comes with a/n fittings as well as barb fittings, and is SPecifically designed to handle pressures up to 120psi and work as a boost controller. It winds up being about the same price as the GM one by the time you get the plug.......about $110. The part# is a 30-2400.

THis is a bran NEW solenoid...just released 2 weeks ago designed specifically to be a boost control solenoid, supporting up to 120psi, so I don't see how you could have "heard of problems" with it. I have been using it on my car for 6months (Prototype...luxury of being an AEM engineer!) I took the GM one off, and trust me...it works significantly better! Being 2 weeks old is why the manual recommends a GM one....becuase there wasn't previously one available! The GM one is only designed for 14psi, and leakes like crazy up there!

AEM has never had one before...the EMS has always had the capability....but never their own solenoid, or controller.

There are some basic tips on the AEM Forums on how to set it up...it isn't something that could be quickly explained...it's not complicated, once you understand how it's done.

same question cause i i've been reading that it seems to bet the best one to use. does anyone have the AEM boost solenoid? hows your thoughts on it. i just bought a GM one for $35 the wiring harness. i haven't hooked it up yet ad it may be awhile before i do? it seems tha you get what you pay for with most things cause i think i've seen the AEM soleniod for bout $130.

If you pressure test your system (without the car running ofcourse) you will easily see what I am talking about. If the 50 bucks you save is critical to your financial situation, run the GM solenoid. If you can scrape up the extra $50, then the AEM one is the ONLY one designed to work specifically as a boost control solenoid...no leaks, and pressure rated to range from 5% to 90% at 120psi of pressure. IF anyone wants a gm solenoid, I now have a spare with the pigtail.....$50 takes it! just pm me!

Another question on this boost control. Is the AEM unit capable of having a switch that can control a high boost/low boost setting?

I have read all 12 pages in this forum but cant remember if I came across something like that. (I have read part of the AEM manuals and still need to print out about 100 pages, my job has a high speed laser printer)

That is a function of the EMS, not the solenoid, but yes....you can with the AEM EMS!
