overheating since aem is in....advice..?

I really dont know if it's the AEM causing it....but the car was fine up until the day the AEM was installed.
Now the temperature goes up if I'm in traffic.
Before I could run it hard for long then come to a dead stop in traffic and the temperature wouldnt go up...

Also does anyone know how to get the intercooler sprayer to work..since the aem the green light on the dash does not come on so i assume it isn't functioning.
the only wires i was told to change around for the evo7 were the fuel pump and a/c wires....which were pin #8 and #22.
everything else works but the ic spray.

as for the overheating....my fans work...i've got a huge koyo radiator. hoping it's not HG. but it isnt throwing water out the overflow either. However i do have to top up the radiator on mornings...i dont know if it's evaporation causing it because the shearer manifold and the samco hoses run about half inch away from each other. I've put that heat reflector thing on it though.

all in all it only started overheating since the aem...just trying to figure out if it's coincidence or not.

thanks

here's a pic of how close everything is

What model are you running, I don't know if they made a specific model for the evo 7. I know that the harness is the same but their are some differences between the two cars. Just wondering if this has anything to do with it? Does both fans come on high speed or just low? I would probably test the thermostat if the fans seem to be working and comming on at the right temp.

DAMNNNNNNNNNN thats Close, that looks like it doesnt even have a quator of an inch of play.

y not take out the AEM and see if it still does it? Trouble shoot that first. Go back to your previous setup.

And i think that the fact that your using a Evo 8 EMS on a 7 might have something to do with it. just be careful with that part. Im sure theres something fucnky about it .

^yeah I'm considering trying that actually.
thing is I've always had the fan set up so that as soon as the ignition is on, the fan is on.
So the fan always stays on regardless of the thermostat.

aem didnt make a version specific to the Evo7 but there are quite a few ppl using them with no problems....as i said the only two things that were supposed to be different were the fuel pump and a/c pins..
which i got sorted out already...

figure the original ecu may have to go in to really tell me if it is the aem causing it

Do you have a wiring diagram for an evo 7? If so I can compare it to an evo 8 and see if there is any wiring differences, particularly in regards to the fan controls.

i could try to get one..
but in my post before yours...i hardwired the fan so that it stays on regardless....so i doubt it could be anything to do with fans

Is it hardwired for the high or low fan setting? Does coolant temp rise in relation to the onset of boost?

Have you tried monitoring the coolant temp sensor reading on the AEM?
