map vs maf
map vs maf
how much more HP will I gain from switching to MAP sensor instead of MAF
I wanted the unit to be a true plug and play but now I'm debating if its worth the extra $$ for parts and retuning.

well u will definitely feel more gain with the map over the maf its been covered on this forum
but is it worth the extra money is up to u and tune
i would have to say yes since u can have a vta blowoff valve if u like the sound and
the maf restricts the air flow
hope that helps

Yar.....ricer comments beget angry pirate responses:
AR, ya see may-tee its not just the VTA "WOOSHY" sound that ya git....yar (no its not). Ya also be getting a system that is easier to tune and allow for more easily made adjustments on fuel maps and air readings or ye walk da plank! Also, you'll need a MAP sensor and IAT sensor to get everything working.
Rule of thumb: MAP = USUALLY more power, easier to tune
MAF = more accurate, stock, harder to tune smoothly, easy to leave alone
ARRRRRRR!!!!! NOW YE SWAB THE POOP DECK!

Well the thing is... its' always better tuning with a map sensor rather than MAF. Easier and safer. Think about it... a Map sensor gives you an acurate boost reading. You are tuning with Engine Load verses air flow. The more acurate the load reading is - they smoother your tune can be (if done right). Download the manuals if you get a chance and read over the differences. If you are going to go with AEM EMS...its recommended you tune with a MAP sensor. But then again - your tune is just as good as the TUNER. So please... be aware of who tunes your car...there are pppl out there that call themselves tuners and there are ppl out there that know what the hell they are doing!
