EMS Placement Fix

Really quick how many of you guys have your EMS 2inches below the dashboard beam because you cant attach a cable otherwise.
Here is a super easy/cheap fix to make the placement of the ems better.
And hey its also a .5LB weight reduction. Cut pointless metal piece in the way with dremel. (really it serves no pupose)
Purchase 90 degree serial adaport and your done.

Thanks it was something that really bothered me about the ems was the wires hanging down by the passengers feet.

Google search, type in 90 degree serial adapter or connector.

new egg has them. About 10 bucks. I tried the local frys, and no dice. So it looks like an order online kinda deal.

This is the best mod ever. Worked very well, and I have OEM placement of my EMS. Great find. Also my adapter, it points theother way, so I did not have to remove that bar.

I figured it was about time I posted some pics of my install. I took it a bit futher, and converted my Cig Lighter into a USB port. So installed the Serial 90* adapter, attached my Serial to USB connector to that and then put a USB extension cable in place, and then epoxied the other end into the cig lighter spot.

Now to pluginto my ems I simply use a USB cable and call it done.

Here are the pics.
