I doubt the dealer will sell the CS pigtail so I'm going to try and replace the wires in my sensor plug. Any idea where to get replacement pins? I was going to check radio shack.
Speaking of sensors, have you had a chance to play around with a 12 tooth crank trigger with AEM? I was thinking of going to this this winter.

i would definitely recommend the trigger disc. The set up instructions that come with it are not the best, but tobz spent a good amount of time tweaking them and my car starts just like a stock ecu car. i hated how the aem started without it and it was pretty embarrassing, but the trigger disc fixed all of that.

Its interesting to read others were having this same problem. I had this problem with my Evo. The car would stutter and backfire any time I went over 3000rpm. I replaced a bunch of stuff in the ignition thinking that was the problem but it ended up being the cam sensor. I replaced it with an duralast one which i wouldnt normally have used but i thought of the cam sensor being the problem on a whim and i did have a mitsubishi dealership close by so i picked one up at the local auto parts store. After that I haven't had a problem with it since then (logged over 7k miles). One thing I found was the resistance was noticeably different between the two sensor (maybe a sign of a faulty one? Idk).
Call up Tony Palo. He sells a magnetic pickup that can be inset into your cam gear that solves this issue.

all i can figure is that the cam sensor is just telling it which cylinder to start firing as the crank rotates 2 times per cam revolution, shutting it off after it syncs and starts sounds like the best idea. can anyone shed any light on how to set this up?

Edit: Pigtail came in today. Totally different plug.
Removed the wrong info above so nobody makes the same mistake. Rockauto was totally off on that part. Plug fits 95 DSM, not 98.Edit II: Found spoolinup.com carries the pigtail so I ordered one from them.

Not enough funds at the moment so AEM will have to suffice.
