Evo 8 Revving/idle problem

Hey guys, my buddy's not a big forum user. So I'm posting this for him.

Here's the mod list,

AEM EMS series 2
Built 2.0
Fully built head
AMS 950r turbo kit,
AMS F1 intake mani
Boomba TB

my question is, the shop his car is at has had it for a long time trying to figure out an idle issue. Turn the car over and it starts revving on its own to about 3-5k. Cold start and when it's warmed up. Has a new idle air controller, so that's not the problem.. ( at least I think ).

Trying to get an idea of what everyone's thoughts are.

The car stopped revving for a little bit after the idle controller was replaced but then started doing it again.

Could this be a tune related issue? What could be making this happen?

Any more questions you have for me ill answer as best I can

And mods if I'm in the wrong section please place me elsewhere.

Thanks,

Mike

Did you replace the o-ring? Have you actually tested the IAC? Do you know how?

Unscrew it from the throttle body
Connect the plug to it
Have someone go inside the car
Turn the key to on

The center piston part of the idle air controller should move in and out smoothly. Watch it and see what happens. Could be wiring also perhaps. I've bought used idle air controllers that were dead.
