aem ems v1 issue please help

hi guys i have an 04 with aem ems v1...the car is tuned and all is good but something has been driving me crazy since i first installed this box and that is the tach doent work...it works fine on the stock ecu...the tuner said its the box probably messed up but i called aem ems and they said they no longer work on v1 and cant do anything but he said that he usually doesnt get involved in this but told me he is certain it is not a box problem but a tuner issue...he says they would get call about that issue all the time and theres a way to set this up in the software for the tach to work...ive tried posting on aem forums but havent got a def answer on how to set this up...if any of you experienced guys know what i have to do please tell me and i will hook up my computer and follow your instructions...i cant afford to pay someone else to just figure this out for me...the guy that tuned it is not the best here but works...please help...

We would need your cal to be able to dig into it.

For starters you can check your output settings. You can trace the pin via the pinout to see what pin goes to the tach. It is just a PWM output signal.

Well the pin for the tach is #58 but everything looks good visually...looks in tact...if I put the stock ecu back on it'll work no prob...I called aem twice in the last year and they both said they're sure it's a software issue...like I said, I've never hooked up my laptop to the car but I'm pretty computer savy and mechanically inclined...now I understand that doesn't mean I know the program but I can follow any directions you give me...how can I send you my cal? Tell me what I have to do and I'll do it please...

i know tacho output should be 2 because aem will recognize output as ls#7 but im trying to figure out what to put in the tacho (teeth) option...as far as i understand the aem instructions formulas are based on one having a 12 tooth trigger wheel?

open the base evo 8 cal, and compare it. I know 100% that the base cal the tach works.

Compare the settings between the two of them and copy and paste from the base cal to your cal. See if that fixes the issue.

TP1 Frequency Out -- unchecked
Frequency M -- 0.00
Frequency Spd -- none
Tacho -- 0 teeth
Tacho Output -- 2

From the base cal

Not on the base cal. The base cal is setup for a stock car.

Here is a cal from my car from back in the days.

Well the tune was started with a base cal...i told aem this and they still said theyre sure theres nothing wrong with the box...they insist its a setting issue...its strange that it doesnt work...ok lets say somehow the box is messed up...would it help if i choose for tachometer to be controlled by multiple ems outputs? does this mean the signal can be displayed by a different pin?
