We have a few Evos running Link around here. Why doesn't ER like Link?
I am still running the stock ECU with flex fuel on my 9 but might look into an aftermarket one. Wanted to go the infinity route but no harness availability sucks.

I don't recall why not should I put words in their mouth but Aaron prefers AEM and motec. I've heard others are happy with Link and also negatives on their idle control. Could be based on old info or versions.. I won't claim to know since I have no first hand knowledge there.

The only reason I'm really looking to change is logging and the local Evo with it seemed very clunky. Logging data is my number 1 priority and CAN compatible with RaceCapture.

I have another question related to the AUX plug here.

it seems that there is only 1 pin for sensor power, and 1 pin for sensor ground, the manual calls for 16-22AWG wire, I have 3 gauges I’d like to log (aem 60psi boost gauge, AEM X series Wideband, and Aem 150psi oil pressure sensor, and AEM flex fuel sensor)

it seems I’d use the wideband in the CAN port? Or the AUX port? There isnt a specific input for the 4.7 LSU sensor which I think I need to get into lambda2 input.

my question is for the boost gauge sensor (AEM 5 bar), I wold assume I power into sensor power pin 8? 12V+ Or pin 4 5v+? but what if in the future I need more inputs? Do I use the thicker 16 AWG wire to the pin, and splice in each additional sensors power to the one pin? And same with sensor ground? ( not gauge power or chassis ground, but sensor power and ground)

any guidance to hooking up thr X series wideband to the CAN channel for logging?

looks like oil psi has it’s own pin, and so does flex fuel sensor, but not boost or lambda 2

Yep 1 pin for power and 1 for ground. Keep in mind, those wires are just for sensors, nothing else. Sensors dont draw much power so just "tee" off the power wires.

Wideband goes to the AemNet plug using can hi/low. Dont waste a different analog input.

Oil psi goes to aux # 5.

Flex fuel is #6.

Boost will depend. What part # is the gauge? If it supports AemNet, you should just be able to wire it to the AemNet wires and call it a day.

I'll email you over the tune tomorrow.

appreciate that! For the hardware, wiring into the AEMNET plug, do I need
to buy the plug so I can pin in the CAN signals? I believe my harness just came with a female end for aemnet so I have no physical place to wire it in other then to the AUX plug which was provided

looks like I need this? So all CAN devices will wire in to this plugs 4 wires? So I’ll have like 3 wires spliced into one on both + and -? How will the ecu be able to differenciate between divices if they are all going to the same main wires into the pnp harness? What are the other two wires on the plug if CAN only uses 2 wires? Or does this plug allow for 2 inputs with 2 can+ pins and 2 can - pins?

Ya if the ECU just came with the plug for the aemnet, you will pin in your wideband there. Should look like this. Nothing else will go there for now. You could technically pair 1000 different sensor to those 2 wires. Each can bus device sends a unique signal.

The aux plug is where most of the wiring will be. This is where you are going to have multiple wires going in to the sensor ground pin and 12v pin. You will have at least 2 wires per pin since you need to wire the boost and ethanol sensor. The wideband doesnt matter cause it sends a can signal instead of a voltage based signal.

Well I got everything wired in with custom little sensor harnesses made using millspec wire and sleeving from ohm racing, and am very close to starting the car with AEM, I have fuel pressure, flex fuel, oil psi, and the x series wideband hooked up to aemnet, got the proper plug, the one I posted wasnt correct for wiring anything into lol. Other then that everything else is stock harness related.

so I have a couple questions about mivec, am I able to copy over my current stock ecu mivec map? I dont know what the table looks like yet in infinity but it’s something I've been stressing about, since I have never had a VVT car before. If I can’t copy tha table over for any reason (different XY values?) does anyone have any links to tips for tuning mivec? I’m absolutely determined to get this evo running better then my dsm was (which I tuned myself up to 40psi on 6466/ E85 on ECMLINK v3) without taking it to a pro tuner. I like knowing what my car is doing rather then someone who pays a tuner and never looks at a laptop and has to pay everytime they make a change for a retune lol

Would love to see pictures of that Milspec wiring from OHM racing if possible.

Use the Mivec map on the tune that I sent over to you. I tried my best to clone it to the oem map. The oem map is based off load and rpm where in the AEM map its based off of PSI and rpm. So there was a conversion involved but it should be pretty close to the factory map.

The best was to figure out the Mivec stuff is on a dyno though. That way you can see if the changes actual got you more power or less.

Question I’ve been hunting for one of these harnesses for my 9 yes I know it’s hopeless but, what Is so different about the 8 harness? couldn’t one just be re-wired or modified cut etc?

You might be able to get a harness from boomslang for the 9.

Yes I seen they are one of the only company making it, but they want $600!! Just wondering if anyone has gone the distance and tried a 8 harness?
