Anyone not happy with their AEM EMS?
I just want to get a feeler of who isn't happy with their AEM EMS and the drivability it offers.

i couldn't be happier with mine, but remember a stand-alone is only as good as the tuner. if you have someone knowledgable tuning it, there should be no problems.

Not a whole lot of responses, especially from those who live in the Northeast in the cold weather. I had my car tuned in warm weather, and now I have cold-start and warmup problems. I need to get retuned, but I'm just going to sell it instead. I only run 19PSI and pump-gas on the stock turbo, the gains just aren't there. I don't want to have to continually retune the car, or take multiple trips to get it tuned, the weather fluctuates so much here.

how much will you sell the AEM EMS for, and do you have the wideband also.

OMG its the only way to go. Best mod i have done. I dont care what you do to a car the engine managment makes the car and your will not find anything better then the AEM. Even the MOTEC has some downfalls comapred to the AEM "knock sensor".

I live in West Chester, Pa. No problems yet, maybe some idle fluctuation when its real col but it evens out after a few mins. I love mine I would not get rid of it.

Not too pleased to say the least. Not an EMS problem though, the unit does everything it advertises...it is just not for me....too much retuning/tinkering at this stage in the gam-J

Cold start is the only problem i had, but only last a few minutes when its cold, so thts ok for me.
just wondering what kind of MPG u guys getting with the AEM EMS? |

JD If you are a tuner or want to be one, it's probably the best toy you can buy for your car. If you are determined to get lots of power from your car and are going to do tons of serious mods (turbo, intake, cams, injectors, etc.) you probably will need it. If you want a plug and play, adjust once and forget it, you don't want it. If you are not mechanically inclined and unwilling or unable to do lots of messing with your car, it's not a good thing to have. If you have to depend on another person to install or tune the AEM you are basically screwed. Actually, if you cannot do everything with it including installation, adjusting, tuning and eventually un-installing it, you don't want it. |
Is the AEM EMS like learning french or will it come to you if you try?
i've got all the tools to tune the set up and i've helped run my friends 2g eclipse with AFC's and EBC's for 2 years now. he didn't want to take the time and effort to run an EMS but i do and hearing some of the downfalls is making me get cold feet. Plus being in chicago hearing about cold start issues kinda bugs me, eventhough i warm up the car everytime i drive in the winter. |

Somebody on here ran 12.0 with only exhaust, intake, MBC and AEM EMS... That pretty much speaks for it's potential...
