Flash Q's

I had Chris tune my car last week, and I was wondering if I hook my laptop up to my car and open up ECUFLASH if I can save the reflash data. I want to mess with the two step to see if I can get the car to leave harder. The best I could manage at the track was 1.978 60' times. And I'm already thinking I want a little more power. What is the limit with the stock ECU that you guys have seen and if I make the jump to a standalone will it make more power just by not having a MAF sensor. Or is the stock ECU limit the size of fuel injectors that it can control? Also do you guys make any trips any closer to me? I live in Montana and work in Wyoming, I'm 4 hours from Denver and 2.5 hours from Salt Lake City. The last trip was a bit ridiculous 3400 miles of pain in a loud EVO. Also Chris if you read this Where and How did you learn to do what you do. That just looks like fun.

Yes, if you have the cable you can download the map that is in there and you can change the two step... If you need help you can give me a call and I can walk you through it.

I'm sure there is alot of debate about the horsepower limit on the stock ECU, but typically we stop at right around 500whp here. The MAF is definitely a restriction at that level. You can run a larger set of injectors on the stock ECU, the problem is the fuel strategy that the ECU uses if for a set of 550's... This means that it will over correct the pulse width and it will cause uneasy drivability.

I do make trips out that way. I may be coming out to Colorado next month. I will probably be in Vegas in a little bit and I also will definitely be in Texas in a couple months. I'm also headed to Hawaii and Puerto Rico, but I don't think that is going to help you out too much

As far as where I learned to do what I do and how I do it... Its just alot of experience and being pointed in the right direction by the right people. I have taken a few EFI classes and automotive tech classes and I also have a background in some networking and computer programming classes. All of that helps...

Thanks for the help. If you come to Colorado I'd like to get you to tune my car for race gas. I'd like to make a 10 second pass on the stock block before the end of the summer and I believe even with better driving I'm going to come up alittle short with the meth and pump. I also go to Vegas 2-3 times a year. That would be great to have you tune the car again.

I'm hoping to make it out that way at least once this year. I will be sure to put you on my list of potential trip contacts!
