Just wondering if there are any members other then myself that live in the Kanto area? I am near Yokohama, and about to by my Evo III. I have been here for nearly a year now, and know a few spots in the Gotenba, Hakone, and Miyagase areas for mountain fun...

Be carefull with the III. They are great cars but it is a little difficult to get aftermarket parts. Many manufactures only care about the 4 and up. They tend to understeer through a turn while on the throttle but oversteer heavly if lifted even a little while wrapped up. Try a aftermarket coilover (I like Ohlins) a new set of sway bars with the back set a little loose. A limited slip in the back helps alot as well. And if you want to get crazy, you can unbolt the front portion of the rear sub-frame and add a one inch spacer. sounds wierd, but it helps. Given said all that, I LOVE MY III and would do a thing different if I had to do it again. Good luck.

 

I've stayed in Gotenba before. Awesome place for cars. Great Go-Kart track there, I highly recommend it.
