Man you're not going to have much sucess getting rims around there! I can give you some people to call, but most are in Bangkok.
Anyway, we build (among other things) container handling cranes - big ones. A ship-to-shore is basically the f*cking great big things that haul containers from a ship on to the shore. There there are those square looking ones that move them around the container yard and so on.
As for movies, I recommend going to the cinema in a mall called Siam Paragon. Get on of the VIP seats. It's like $30 for two but you get electric reclining leather seats, partition walls between each pair of seats and they bring you popcorn and drinks. And there's only something like 16 pairs of seats in the whole cinema.
Me and the gf are going to see that same film tomorrow.
oh, btw, it's a holiday in Tuesday if nobody's told you.

There are wheel places all over the friggin place in Bangkok. I have a ralliart and a new eclipse in the US. My wife is Thai so we go to bangkok about every other year. I did see a few cool cars in Thailand including an EVO 2. Saw alot more cool stuff in Japan though.

sorry to shatter your dreams. import duty on automotive wheels is 42% in the CIF value. In short, alloys here are expensive. Wheel shops are in abundance but do watch out for fakes. They are also quite wide-spread. In fact, I know a place where you can get fake wheels if you like - but I would not advise you use them. There's a guy I know who gets the bigger parts for me (bigger than DHL would take) but he's quite expensive - a set of Advan RS 17/8.5/+31 would be about 88,000THB = $2,200 for a set of 4. It ain't cheap but that's shipping included (to Bangkok anyway). And still cheaper than the official route -
List price Advan RS 17/8.5/+31: 49,000JPY x 4 = 196,000JPY = $1,717.05 in Japan excl. sales tax cos we're shipping it out.
Shipping UPS Japan -> Thailand = 60,000JPY = $525.57 (probably more, actually)
Total incl. duty = (1,717.05 + 525.57) x 1.42 = $3184.52 <- official price in Thailand privately imported. So it sucks anyhow...
