Is there any way to tell if the computer in your car has been modified? When I got my Lancer, the dealer said that when it was originally bought, there was a modification chip put in it to increase power, performance, etc.
I didn't really take any notice of it then because you cant really trust a dealer but I would like to check it out just out of interest.

 

it may cost some dollars, but you could try and get in contact with a head mitsubishi office technician, who may be able to help you, i heard with commodore Holden have the software on computer that is factory, and they can check the chip against that, but i dunno if Mitsubishi is that way inclined.. only way to find out is email or ring mitsi in your State
