Tragedy!!!

i just wanna share sadness and disappiontment.
Last night i crashed my beautiful baby. i was driving at about 3 am. i took a corner too fast locked all wheels and slid out into the cliff face. The car was launched into the air and did a 180 and i landed facing the wrong way on the road. My friend behind me said that my car almost rolled. I now consider myself quite lucky to get out uninjured but my friend was was a bit battered and bruised and was in shock. we took her to the hospital but she was fine and came out this morning.
I guess i should be glad to be here still. I could've turned out worse.
It was all so scary. i still remember when my wheels locked i knew i was going to crash. it felt like ages beforre we actually hit the wall. i was so scared but thankful that i hit side on and not front first.
i just wanna say to everyone to be careful and do not try to race unless in safe conditions.... eg racetrack and dont overestimate your skill or your car. it's not worth the risk and even though we came out alright, you never know.
Just wanted to share that with you guys...thanks for reading.

Are you insured? I agree drivers over-estimate their own ability far too often, as well as their cars. But that comes with the game.

Insurance company gonna asses it tomorrow. dont know how much damage was done but it looked pretty bad. the body looks ok but not sure about the chassis. it was a pretty big hit. Front driveshat?(the part that drives the wheels from the gerbox to the wheels?) had came off and is hanging. just waiting to see.

Can you get pics of the damage? If so, do show us. Its good to hear that your ok. What speed were you doing and why were you speeding in the first place? I guess its made you think about your actions especially when you have other ppl in the car.

There is no such thing as safe speeding but there is such a thing as smart speeding and this wasn't smart.

At lease your still here to tell the story. Take it easy mate.

Hey,
I had that same problem with my OZ. I forgot it had no abs and it was like 10 pm and i tried truning at like 50 mph and i had to hit the brakes because it was a 90 degree turn. First time on the road. I lunched the water retainment ditch. My friends behind me said i got atleast 5 feet in the air. I was freaked out. I had to take control of the car before i hit the pond and i pull the E brake and whiped a 180 and gunned it. After i got on the road went to a gas station to check every thing out it was all good! Nothing was wrong the shocks were perfect and not one scrach. Remember to drive same and not to speed on unknown roads.
Glad to hear your ok. all i can say is seat belts help and save lives

Oh and I have a question for anyone who knows. HotYellowLancer car is a write off, can he go and take items off his car? eg; Stereo system, seats, mags etc.

Cheers

No unless he purchases the car back off the insurance company the items are theirs. But he will get dollar value back for the items. If there is anything on the car which the insurance did not know about, fo example a CD player or something, they he is intitled to take that out, because it was not a covered item, but any damage to it fall onto him.
