Hi,

I'm going to buy a cheap lancer, I been researching a lot, and i found these are the best value:

-Mitsubishi Lancer Gli Coupe '92 for $4000
-Mitsubishi Lancer GSR (EVO I) '92 for $5000

Which one should i buy?

Sorry mate but that is bull.....First of all a Evolution will cost around $20,000. All you will get for $5000 (being a GSR) is the CA shape Lancer GSR which is a non turbo. For all of you people out there who do not know like Xolture here, the evolution models started with the CC Model Lancer. To be honist with you I only consider the CC onward models of the Lancer to actually be a Lancer, the older non evolution shapes, are simply not good enough for the Lancer name.

Be nice, the guy is only asking for a bit of help. Any Lancer is a good Lancer. My suggestion is get both of them cheked out. If the GSR is genuine and in good condition, you may have found yourself an awesome deal. Good luck!

sorry, i agree with mivec, the EVo's started out in the CC range, and that the gsr you would be looking at would pretty sure be the non turbo ( i know the galant's sold big, asnd a guy has a non turbo lancer down the road from me)

When your looking at the CC coupe, diffintely make sure you are looking at fuel injected, not a carby, as most were carby models with the 1.5. Good luck if you find one with fuel injected

Good t you for going to buy a lancer

the cheapest evo 1 i have found this morning is 25 gee's aussie dollar

GsR Wrote : they are not turbo and only 1.6i front wheel drive, they shouldnt even have the name gsr or lancer..

Ahem, my LANCER is 1.5 Litre CARBY
did you know that LANCERS started in 1978 and they were.... 1.6 CARBY LANCERS

hrmm.. i thought this was a LANCER forum..

oh btw, i think more then averga elancers are all FRONT WHEEL DRIVE

what size engine and what drive is in your lancer GsR ?

what the hell. how could anyone say older lancers shouldnt be called lancers. if anything newer lances should chagne their name cause old ones were there first, and it was the old ones that brought us the evo's.

crazy assmonkeys !

Evoposer???? I think you are a little confused. The Evolution models started in the CC shape Lancer. If you recall (or have no idea) before then Mitsubishi used the Galant for rally. So what many people here are saying is, that the older Lancers (non Evolution shape) are not the greatest representation of the Lancer which Mitsubishi has produced. Also Evoposer I do not think anyone here has said anything against the CC Lancer onward which your car fits into.

sorry im a angry, angry young man. but every lancer is a lancer and i dont care what catergory my lancer fits into. if u dont like old lancers from pre cc then this isnt the place for you. or your children. you should go talk to new lancers only forum. some mothers do have them.

Hehe u guys are arguein like *****es! Since ur all throwin in the two cents worth, I recon a "Lancer" coupe ain't nothin but a Mirage with a boot, that they slipped and dropped a Lancer badge onto! If it ain't got 4 doors it ain't a LANCER, Althought I agree it don't matter how old it is.

LOL

Hey Mivec... actually - back in the real early 80's Mits rallied a rwd turboed and intercooled (1.8lt 4G62 I think) Lancer GSR.... In fact the intercooler it used is almost identical to the VR4 RS intercooler which is so sort after.
